Boiler Servicing

The core of your home lies in its central heating system. Proper maintenance is essential to ensure its health and efficient operation. Regularly servicing your boiler, entrusted to the skilled team at Peacock Heating, can significantly enhance its performance and lifespan. Beyond these benefits, it has the potential to reduce your energy bills and, most crucially, maintain a safe environment for everyone in your home.

If your boiler is still covered by its manufacturer’s guarantee or warranty, an annual service is obligatory to validate either the guarantee or warranty. It’s a proactive measure to uphold the terms of your coverage and ensure the continued reliability of your heating system.

What happens during your annual boiler service?

1

Initial Inspection

During a boiler servicing, our engineer thoroughly assesses safety and functionality. We inspect essential components and controls, ensuring proper water and fuel regulation. We also check for leaks or faults, ensuring continued safe and efficient operation.
2

Under the Hood

Following an external inspection, we remove the outer casing to examine internal elements. Conducting a gas pressure test is crucial to ensure proper operation. We also perform a flue test to assess CO levels, ensuring safety. These tests are vital for your boiler's safe functioning.
3

Clean Boiler

In the final stage, we clean necessary components and inspect for limescale or debris. Afterward, we securely reattach the outer casing and conduct a final inspection. Before finishing, we provide comprehensive details for your records, ensuring transparency and equipping you with valuable insights into your boiler's maintenance.

Frequently Asked Questions:

How often should my boiler be serviced?

We recommend that you should get your boiler serviced annually to ensure it’s working properly. If your boiler is faulty it could result in your wasting a lot of money as it may start to leak carbon monoxide. As the poisonous gas is colourless and scentless, it can be difficult to tell if your appliances start to leak – therefore, it’s incredibly important to get a Gas Safe Registered engineer to check them.

Do I need a boiler service to protect my guarantee or warranty?

Yes, many boiler manufacturers will request that you have a boiler service every year to validate either the guarantee or warranty.

What happens during the boiler service?

We will carry out a thorough check of your boiler to ensure it’s in working order. We’ll make sure that there’s no leaks or corrosion, inspections of main parts and carry out tests to check for unsafe fumes.

What is a Gas Safety check?

A gas safety check is a yearly inspection of all gas appliances in a home. If you use gas appliances – which most of us do – it’s a good idea to get them checked by a Gas Safe engineer (an engineer vetted by the Gas Safe Registry). After the check, you’ll receive a Gas Safe certificate that lasts for a year.

What is your Gas Safe number?

Our Gas Safe number is 00000 and this can be verified on the website www.gassaferegister.co.uk.
